Well, 2016 has finally come to a close. While many have their qualms with the events that unfolded in the past year, I have to say it was the best year of my life. I got engaged exactly a year ago (on New Year’s), I got married in August, my husband and I rescued a kitten to add to our little family of us and our cats, and I finally exceeded my 2016 Goodreads Reading Challenge! I set my Reading Challenge at a humble 50 books because I knew school would make reading a true challenge, but I went beyond that by reading 61 books.
This year, I have raised my goal to 75 books, and I’m feeling pretty confident that I can fulfill that goal. I hope to raise my goal each year and keep surprising myself. That being said, I want to get a good head-start on my 2017 Reading Challenge, so here’s my January TBR:
- Queen of Shadows, by Sarah J. Maas (currently reading)
- City of Heavenly Fire, by Cassandra Clare
- Shadow and Bone, by Leigh Bardugo
- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, by J.K. Rowling
- A Breath of Snow and Ashes, by Diana Gabaldon
I’m keeping the TBR nice and short, so I don’t get too intimidated. And, of course, there is a likely chance I will stray far from this TBR, but they’re fun to make anyway aren’t they?
Comment below and let me know what your TBR is and what you’re currently reading. I hope you all had safe and happy holidays, and Happy New Year!
